SITUATION:
It is sad to say but most Americans are not aware of the ongoing crisis in North Carolina following the devastation of Hurricane Helene in September 2024. While time has passed, hundreds of thousands of residents remain without homes, transportation, or consistent access to food and water.
Despite visits from the President and First Lady, and some limited assistance from local, state, and federal governments, it is estimated that only 15% of residents’ homes, vehicles, and infrastructure have been restored. Many victims are still living in tents or makeshift trailers. Furthermore, insurance companies have been slow to act, and local governments have added administrative burdens and fees to the already stressed citizens of Northwest Carolina.
We believe there must be a concerted effort to remind the administration that taxpayer resources and material aid should be prioritized for our own citizens. To this end, we have launched operation “Squeaky Hinge” to advocate for the needs of Western North Carolina citizens hoping we can count on your help.
OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to get President Trump to meet with the “boots on the ground” who have been working with the victims of Hurricane Helene since the beginning which necessitates a need to raise public awareness about the thousands of needy Carolina Residents. With that in mind we recommend the following to address this urgent situation:
ACTION ITEMS:
1. Please email us at army4nc@gmail.com and we will send you a link to our website OR you can go directly to countrycounselor.org and click on North Carolina Relief. We recommend you start with the First Lady who seems to have the President’s ear.
On that page you can also choose to send a letter to President Trump or Vice President Vance as well as the White House Faith Office. We also have a letter you can send to your Congressman to forward to the President and at this point. Melania Trump is our initial recommended contact but feel free to light a fire under others as well.
2. If you contact us at army4nc@gmail.com we have contact info to several in the media you can call or email. We recommend that you also contact them in order to raise more awareness regarding our outreach.
3. When you email us we can also add you to our email update list where we will be sending out new information as we go along. Getting the President’s attention may take a while so we cannot give up. PLEASE JOIN THE FIGHT.
Boots on the Ground – When you initiate your contacts please make it clear that you want President Trump to meet with Nate Cerepak, Wayne Allred and some local pastors in the area.
